On November 4, 2008, Nancy Landry was elected State Representative for Distirct 31 with
62% of the vote. A year before, in her first run for public office, Nancy fell just 33 votes
short.
As a candidate for State Representative, Nancy strongly supported Bobby Jindal while
campaigning for ethics reform, improved transportation, and economic development. After
the first election, Nancy founded Pelican Strategies to advocate for the issues she believes
in.
Nancy also proved her skill in campaign fundraising, bringing in $150,000 in her first race,
and over $100,000 in the very short special election a year later. In March, she chaired a
fundraiser for Senate Finance Chairman Mike Michot that raised more than $125,000.
Nancy is also an award-winning Family Law Counselor, recognized for her work helping
families in crisis.
